JOSHUA Ujamaa | Sock and Shoe Drive

Sock and Shoe Drive
Thousands of children in Uganda, East Africa are barefoot and in need of socks and shoes. Socks and shoes will help protect the children's feet from a very harmful parasite, the Chigoe flea. This dreadful parasite is prevalent in the soil of East Africa. The Chigoe attaches itself to the human foot and burrows into the skin of the foot, causing intense pain, infection and sores often leading to the spontaneous amputation of a digit.

As a result of generous donations, over 500 pairs of socks and shoes have been purchased and delivered to the children. While we are happy with our progress, so much more is needed. It is our goal to equip with each child enrolled as a student in any orphanage were we are partners with a pair of socks and shoes, a school uniform, books, and other basic necessities.

"And stood at his feet behind him weeping and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and annointed them with the ointment." - Luke 7:38
