At Home | Abroad | Manna for Many | Mission Possible 2012 | Feed A Hungry Family
One of our first programs, Manna for Many, was developed as a result of the need for food amongst many of the elderly of Washington, DC. In October 2003, JOSHUA Foundation volunteers began delivering non-perishable food items to elderly and disabled residents in Washington, DC. At first, the recipients consisted of a small group of people. However, as connections were made and word began to spread, our Manna for Many participants increased. As a result, over 17,000 meals have been supplemented through Manna for Many.
The purpose of Manna for Many is two fold: The JOSHUA Foundation endeavors to improve the nutrition of undernourished elderly and disabled District of Columbia residents. Those eligible for participation in the Manna for Many program: Monetary and non-perishable food donations for the program are welcomed. To find out more, contact our office, (202) 882-6333. (Disclaimer: The JOSHUA Foundation opens participation to all of those who meet the eligibility criteria. The JOSHUA Foundation does not exclude those of different faiths from participation nor does The JOSHUA Foundation force its beliefs on any individual or group of individuals.) "For I was an hungred, ye gave me meat: I was thristy, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in." - Matt 25:35
