As part of our mission to assist in the elimination of health disparities among specific populations, The JOSHUA Foundation implemented a agricultural program to help feed hungry people in Uganda, East Africa. In collaboration with the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation, The JOSHUA Foundation acquired 12 acres of farm land in the village of Kamuzinda, located outside of Masaka, Uganda. In November, 2002, this land became The JOSHUA Farm.
Harvest from the farm feed orphans and families in Kamuzinda and 15 neighboring villages. Bananas, cassava, potatoes, beans, peas, pineapple, vanilla and sugar cane are some of the crops that are grown on the farm.
It is our goal to also include livestock on the farm. Listed below is a wish list that will help us continue the farm's production and maintenance:
