| Uganda, East Africa has one of the largest rates of
HIV/AIDS cases in the world according to statistics. Many children in
Uganda are orphaned as a result of losing their parents to HIV disease
or tragedy. These very children often go without the necessities of
life, such as food, water, clothes, health care and education. The
JOSHUA Foundation has partnered with several Christian schools through
The Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation and Nebsta College in Uganda to
sponsor the children. A $20.00 (U.S.) monthly tax-deductible
sponsorship donation will ensure that a child receives those vitally
important necessities of life. It will also help a child feel loved and
important. |

The Crisis
There are an estimated 1.2
million Ugandan orphans and the number is expected to rise to an
estimated 10 million by 2010. Many Ugandan children are orphaned as a
result of war or HIV disease; therefore, the children cannot afford to
pay required school fees, which leads to teachers not being paid and
children not being adequately educated, fed and nourished. For most of
the children, meals received at school are the only meals they receive.
The JOSHUA Foundation has accepted the challenge to become a resource
to this crisis. The Foundation has identified six schools in Uganda
that are severely under funded or not receiving funding at all, as
children suffer with little hope. The JOSHUA Foundation seeks to
provide 5,000 recurring academic scholarships to orphaned and needy
children in Uganda.
How You Can Help
We hope you will help us reach our goal by joining us in this worthy
endeavor to make a difference in the lives of orphans and needy
children.
By
sponsoring an academic scholarship, you will enable a child to receive
the educational, nutritional, and medical attention that he or she
needs to survive. This includes a school uniform, necessary school
supplies, two meals a day, and medical attention as needed.
The cost for one child to receive these
necessities is less than seventy cents a day - just $20 a month or $240
a year. Imagine the difference you will make in a child's life for just
less than seventy cents a day.
What Your Sponsorship Provides
By sponsoring a one-year academic scholarship, you will ensure that one child receives the following for an entire year:
- Required School Fees
- Breakfast & Lunch
- Healthcare
