WASHINGTON, DC - The JOSHUA Foundation today announced the launch of a sponsorship program for children of Uganda, East Africa.

After his visit to Uganda last month to distribute socks and shoes to children, Executive Director, Edward Walden Jr., was filled with anguish after seeing firsthand the conditions that the children must endure. "Many of the children are orphaned as a result of losing parents to HIV disease or tragedy. Isn't it bad enough that these children are parentless? Yet they still have to worry about where their next meal will come from, if someone will care for them or if they'll be able to get an education, all while living in squalor. Let our little brothers and sisters know that we haven't forgotten about them. Sponsor a child today," Walden said.

Statistics report that Uganda has one of the largest rates of HIV/AIDS cases in the world.

The JOSHUA Foundation has partnered with a number of Christian schools through the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation to sponsor children. Sponsorship will pay the school fees for a child, as well as help provide for the child's general welfare.

The JOSHUA Foundation is also in partnership with the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation in its Socks & Shoes Drive and The JOSHUA Farm.

Founded in 2001, by Executive Director, Edward Walden Jr., The JOSHUA Foundation is a global 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization serving poor and disadvantaged people of various nationalities. Its mission is to assist in the elimination of health and education disparities among specific populations domestically and abroad.
